Hair we go!

I've documented some of Bub's amazing hair transformations in the past, but this time it was Sis's turn.  She hasn't REALLY gotten it cut in at least 3 years, but she was ready for a change...

I made her pose for a couple "before" pictures...  I absolutely LOVE her long hair, but I completely understand the compulsion for change in one's hair...  that's always been my thing, too.

Before - Front

Before - Back

The first cut.  Aaghhhh!!!

Just a little pile of hair on the floor...

After - Back

After - Front

I love her new look, but even more importantly, Sis loves it!!!!

Before and After, part 3?

I feel like I am always posting Before and Afters.  If you haven't figured this out about me yet, I like to change things up.  A lot.  And so do my kids with THEIR hair.  So, here we go again.  :)

In case you forgot, here's my before...  (the first one is this morning, and it's kind of blurry... still getting used to my new camera).

I've been letting it grow out for about 2 years now.  And I really like it when I FIX it, but that doesn't happen regularly.  :)  I most often do what I did in the top picture... straighten my bangs and let the rest dry naturally (and frizzy).

So, I decided to chop it off.  Literally.  I am still researching where to donate my hair to, but my braid was 10" long.

See?

So, here's the "after."  I think it's kinda "big" today.  I call it hairstylist hair...  where it's a little bigger than I would normally wear it.  But I LOVE IT!

And there go you...  the BEFORE AND AFTER... again.

Hair's a changin'

*FYI  - I did NOT shrink in size while I got my hair straightened, even though the photo shows that I did!

Hair today, gone tomorrow

Here's Bub while we were on vacation in San Antonio (see all the Pottery Barn boxes in the background? It was an outlet... Awesome!). Anyway, Bub was ready to talk (but only talk) about cutting his hair shorter for the summer. But he was waffling...

So Don and I told him he could get ANY crazy haircut he wanted for his birthday weekend, but he'd have to cut it all off at the end of the weekend. We said he could even choose a MULLET if he wanted!!!

But he chose...

Yup, a spiky Mohawk. And yes, he carried his WWE belt with him practically the whole time his hair was like this.

Then came Sunday...

How cute is he???? Don't get me wrong... I like it long, too, but it's so cute now!

Deck the Halls (and closets)

So, I've not talked much about my resolutions goals mottoes for 2010 yet (cuz I'm still catching up with Christmas stuff), but I'll give you a sneak peek into one of mine: simplify! That's my goal...

So jumping ahead (cuz it was still technically 2009, and it wasn't required until 1/1/2010 to be a 2010 motto, right?), I decided to simplify in my Christmas decorating this year.

For a couple of reasons.

First of all, we've decided to sell our house (another story for another time), and I didn't want to over-decorate just in case someone came to see the house. Secondly, I'm lazy... I believe I've mentioned that before.

But I DID decorate... I just put out some stuff... and made sure it was stuff I really loved having out at Christmastime. Like my big tree. Normally I put up 3 trees... our big one in our great room, our regular one in our bedroom with all our hallmark ornaments, and one up in the kids' playroom that they can decorate however they wish.

But not this year. Just my big tree. See?

But I think the decorating I was even more proud of wasn't Christmas-y at all. In taking photos of the house, I noticed that every single picture of my closet looked terrible. Even though I didn't think it looked that bad in "real life," the photos showed every. single. item. that was out of place. So I pulled out SKILLZ I forgot I had... my Gap-sweater-folding-SKILLZ. I worked one summer and/or Christmas holiday at Gap, and my entire shifts consisted of folding sweaters and shirts with folding boards.

So, since I don't own folding boards (duh!), I used the next best things... catalogs and sale ads! And I was pretty proud of the results!

*In full disclosure, my closet does not currently look EXACTLY like this... While the items on the shelves are still nicely folded, there does seem to be quite a pile of clothing left on my bench that hasn't made it back on the uniformly folded shelves yet. Oh well...*

Too much time on my hands

So, I've had WAY to much time on my hands the past few days (I'll post about it shortly), so I've changed the look (again). What do you think?
