It's kinda like a treasure hunt!

So, since I am the primary photographer of the family (or "pitcher-taker," as I like to say), it's pretty rare for me to find photos on the camera to be downloaded that I didn't take.

But as I was downloading pictures from last weekend's state fair (more to follow on that another day!), I ran across some photos that Don took while he and Bub were at the Army Nationals Wrestling Tournament a while back.

This is the weekend that they camped out in a pup-tent, and then wrestled all day (and watched some of the bigger boys on the team wrestle as well)... a good old-fashioned testosterone-fest! Sis and I shopped, ate out at the Ol!ve Garden, and just acted really girly. Which wasn't really an act.
Here are some shots of boys being boys:

Apparently summer is over...

Because the kids have started school!!! Yup, already!

And my camera flipped out on me (okay, okay, it was totally user error... I was playing with different settings the other day, and forgot to put it back), so none of my outside photos took. But my INSIDE ones with their teachers worked out.

For comparison's sake, you can see the kids' first day of school last year here.

The kids are bigger this year, they look older, and Bub's got that crazy long hair (I'm on a mission to talk him into cutting it... at least trimming it significantly)!
********************************
In other news, I had my 2nd LASIK surgery 2 weeks ago, and I'm 20/20!!! It's good to see so clearly again! I really think that's one reason I took hardly any pictures this summer... because my vision was blurry, I couldn't ever tell if my pictures were in focus or not!
So, expect more photos now... :)
Have a great weekend!

Making Memories

Some of my favorite childhood memories involve my grandparents. Spending the night with them, shopping with them, getting Pepsi's in a glass bottle from them, going to church with them. I really cherish those memories!

Sis has had one of those memory-making weeks, I think. Last night we had my mom over for an early birthday dinner. And it was just "us girls" there... Don and Bub were off at wrestling practice. So my mom, Sis and I all ate together, then visited in the family room together. And Sis was every bit as involved in the conversation as my mom and I. She was having real grown-up conversation with us.

When my mom left, she kept emphasizing over and over how much fun she had (and that she thought Nana really had a good time, too... I'm sure Nana did!).

Then today, her other grandmother (whom she calls Dede) took her shopping for her firstdayofschool outfit. How fun! They kept calling me with questions and opinions, and they are cracking themselves up. With what??? Who knows? The bottom line is, it doesn't matter at all what they are doing... just that they are doing.

Making memories.
